Going through all of my older blog posts I often find much room for improvement. The more you learn, the more you realize you didn’t know. So when I look at older posts some of them seem like a complete waste of time and others have huge potential to bring in traffic. There are a few things you can look for to improve old posts.

How much do the keyword meta tags affect your search rankings?

Meta Description Tags are used for snippets for your articles in the search results. A good SEO plugin will be helpful filling out the Meta Description and Name. However the keyword tags are mostly used only for bringing back search results within your website.

So if you have been cramming as many keywords into every article you write, then It’s time to rethink you strategy. Try to use helpful tags, that will let users find similar content instead of keyword spamming.

Matt Cutts from Google gave a lecture at this years Wordcamp detailing some of the more important details of blogging. According to Cutts, Wordpress automatically solves 90% of the Search Engine Optimization mechanics of us.

The rest of the work is determined by your pagerank, your reputation, and the relevance of your article to the search query. Matt gives some very valuable tips on how to increase your search engine traffic. As well as how to find keywords in your niche, and how to write better articles. For anyone who has their own blog, this video is a MUST SEE.

Today at Zero 2 Hero we celebrate the 15 day anniversary, since this blog is fairly new I have the advantage of testing many different methods of traffic generation and reporting how well each one works.

So today I wanted to share with you my progress and what has worked best after 15 days since my beginning. Lets take a look at 2 ways that I was able to get more traffic and improve my page rank, and 1 way that has not worked well so far.
