Registering your own domain name is cheap and easy. It’s also an important step to becoming a blogger. It will look more professional and give users an easy way to remember how to find your website.

You’ve been blogging now for a few years and despite the ego rush of seeing your hits soar, you’re left wondering whats the point or rather how do you finally make some cash off all that hard work.

In the beginning it can be tough when you’re not earning from your blog, but there are lots of options when it comes to monetization.

In the beginning I would use blog comments as a way to show my face and get potential clicks and this method worked fairly consistently. I would say something polite and informed about the content and use my Gravatar to get clicks, but I would never go back to see if I had any replies. However I was able to greatly increase the potential for commenting when I realized one thing.

From time to time there are those whose sufferings can be taken no longer. For these people they resort to a new form of digital revolution, the “Social Network Call to Arms”. The past few months I’ve witnessed countless instances of people using their network connections to accomplish many tasks.

I find that writing like anything else takes practice. The more you do it the better you will get. Looking back at things I’ve written years ago makes me embarrassed, but on the positive side, I have evidence of improvement.

Its been coming for a long time, the slow painful death of IE6. As the web continues to grow and change it becomes necessary to retire those old dinosaurs who have become more of a pain to use than a benefit. As a developer its a tiring process to make sure your pages run on every browser, but if everyone just dropped support for it we could get rid of this pesky browser for good.
