How to Make Money Blogging

There are several different ways to earn an income from the comfort of your home using the internet and not all of them involve using a blog. However there are at least 7 ways a blog can generate income for you.

“It can pay for your bills. It works for everyone. There’s no secret and you’ll just really need to know how to get started and which blogging method you want to follow.”

1. The “Flagship” or Big Blog Route – Where you focus all your energy on one single blog and try to build a huge readership and lots of traffic

2. The “Pay per Post” or Get Paid to Blog Route - Set up several small blogs and get paid by sponsors to review/promote their products.

3. The Automated Blogging or Splog Route - This blog automatically pulls content from others RSS feeds to create content for your blog.

4. The Text Link Selling Blog Route - Earn income through selling text links to websites and businesses.

5. The Made-for-Adsense or Made-for-Affiliate-Program Route - Here you set up a blog with one idea in mind. Sell your product, whatever it may be.

6. The Blog Network or Contract Blogging Route - Join a blog network and get paid to create content for other people.

7. The Blog-as-Marketing or Branding Route - Create your own business and promote yourself through your blog.

  1. Nice post Matt.

Everyone wants their blog to explode from that one post which attracts lots of visitors, but how many blogs, which not many people know exist are able to do that…despite how good their content is.

There are exceptions of course, but usually it’s slow process.

Nice looking site. Keep it up!

  2. Personally, I hate #3. Automated blogging is not blogging. It’s theft! #5 is also a big no no!

Real blogging is related to passion. If a person is not serious about the topic he has chosen, he is not a blogger!

  3. Thanks for the feedback, I agree 100% with both of you.

@Ben – It does take time, all you can do it stick with the routine. If you work hard most of the time it pays off

@Mr. I – While some of the methods are less than true blogging, I’m just trying to share with readers that there are ways to earn some money on the side using a one or all of those methods. But I agree, I try to take approach number 1 over all the others.

  4. @Matt I am not against sharing these with readers. I was just expressing my personal views on these.
